Social Media Black Market

It was an eye-opening week in Social Media for brands. The FTC fined Florida businessman German Calas, Jr. $2.5 million over the sale of "fake indicators of social media influence,” while it also issued a warning to Sunday Riley Skincare, whom the FTC says had written fake reviews of her company's products on Sephora’s website, and had also ordered her employees to do the same.  

This raises consumer questions regarding the relevancy and legitimacy of brand reviews across the greater social and digital space. With the FTC cracking down on brands, we wanted to share a cheat sheet where you can find the latest tips and regulations to keep your brand out of hot water.
