We are a women, minority, and LGBTQIA+ owned company. That identity shapes how we think, how we build, and what we believe creativity is actually for. So when June arrives, Pride is not something we observe from the outside. It is something we carry with us all year.
This month, we asked the people at Social House to share what Pride means to them. What came back was not a set of talking points. It was a set of truths.
Pride Is Clarity, Not Just Celebration
Across every response, one idea surfaced again and again. Pride is not only joy. It is the decision to stop editing yourself for the comfort of others.
Norel put it plainly: "It is not just celebration. It is clarity. It is the decision to stop editing yourself for the comfort of others and to understand that who you are is not separate from the value you bring."
That distinction matters. Celebration is easy to perform. Clarity requires something deeper. It requires a company, a team, and a culture that makes space for people to actually arrive as themselves rather than a version of themselves that has been made easier for others to accept.
For Silan, Pride is the opposite of shame. For Adam, it is knowing you are not alone. For Aly, it is the courage to take up space and the community that forms around you when you do. These are not abstract ideas. They are the conditions that make real creative work possible.
What Inclusion Actually Looks Like From the Inside
The word inclusion gets used a lot. It gets used in values statements, in hiring decks, in brand campaigns built for June. What it rarely gets used for is an honest description of what it actually feels like day to day.
Our team was clear on this. Inclusion is not a policy. It is a practice that shows up in the small moments: whether someone feels comfortable being open about their life, whether different perspectives are genuinely sought out or just tolerated, and whether people feel respected before they are asked to make themselves easier to understand.
A workplace that asks people to simplify themselves before it extends respect is not an inclusive one. It is a conditional one. The difference between those two things is felt immediately and remembered.
Why It Makes the Work Better
This is the part that matters most to us as an agency. Representation is not just the right thing to do. It is the thing that makes creative work more honest, more resonant, and more culturally durable.
As Aly put it: everything we create is a snapshot of how we interpret the world through our lived experiences. The more multifaceted those experiences are, the richer and more authentic the work becomes. Adam said it simply: real creative has no lanes. It is an amalgamation of different minds coming together, and that is exactly why representation matters.
A wider lens makes the work better. Not sometimes. Every time.
Social House was built by people who know what it feels like to be underestimated, unseen, or asked to be less so that others could be more comfortable.
