Since the beginning of COVID-19, social media apps like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn have been rolling out new features to their platforms to help users during this time. Facebook is now rolling out a new gift card listing for small businesses to utilize. Gift card registries will be available via special newsfeed prompt allowing businesses the opportunity to stay afloat while they're closed. This feature began rolling out across the U.S. late last week.

As expected, social media apps are seeing a rise in usage over the past couple of weeks due to the quarantine of COVID-19.

The platform that has already gained millions of users from its launch in 2016, TikTok is expanding and providing new updates for its users. While TikTok content was primarily captured on mobile devices only, the company has announced that it will be providing an option to upload via Desktop.

On February 11th, Snapchat announced a new mental health resource called Here for You, which is the first product launch around their larger health and wellness push to be rolled out over the next few months. Here for You is designed to provide “proactive in-app support [for those] who may be experiencing mental health or emotional crisis, or who may be curious to learn more about these issues and how they can help friends dealing with them.”
